Traffic plan announced for IDEAS 2024 Expo in Karachi

Karachi Traffic Police have issued a detailed traffic management plan for the 12th edition of the defence exhibition, IDEAS 2024, being held at the Expo Centre from November 19 to November 22. Key roads leading to the venue will remain temporarily closed from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM during the event, and business activities in the surrounding areas will also be suspended.

Roads Closed for Traffic:

1. Stadium Flyover and Hassan Square Flyover: Closed from both directions between Stadium Flyover and Hassan Square Flyover.
2. Stadium Road: Blocked from Agha Khan Hospital to Hassan Square (Sir Shah Suleman Road).
3. Dalmia Road: No traffic allowed from Stadium Signal towards Hassan Square.
4. University Road: No entry from NIPA towards Expo Centre or Stadium.

Alternative Routes for Public and Commercial Vehicles:

• Heavy Traffic Diversions:
  • Karsaz: Heavy vehicles must avoid entering via Shahrah-e-Faisal and opt for Drigh Road.
  • Millennium Mall: Heavy vehicles should avoid Stadium Road and use NIPA, Askari IV, or Drigh Road.
  • NIPA: Diversions to Sohrab Goth or Millennium Mall via Gulshan Chowrangi.
  • Jail Chowrangi: Use Shahrah-e-Millat or Teen Hatti Road.
  • New Town: Traffic diverted to PP Chowrangi or Shahrah-e-Millat.
  • Liaquatabad No. 10: Use Teen Hatti Road instead of Hassan Square.
  • Sir Shah Suleman Road: Both directions near Hassan Square and National Stadium will remain closed. Traffic should use alternative routes via Grieveabad, Shahrah-e-Faisal, or University Road towards NIPA.
